In the early days after the Revolution’s victory, once I together with a group of friends working at the Islamic Culture publishing house of the city of Dezful paid a visit to the Imam in Qom. In our meeting, the wife of one of the martyrs whose husband was martyred in the province of Kurdistan was present as well. While holding the photograph of her martyred husband in one hand, she sat down next to the Imam and requested the Imam to take a look at his photo. In order to have met her request, the Imam turned his face serenely towards the martyr’s photograph and took the photograph from the lady. We who were totally mesmerized by the Imam’s imposing personality, dignity and radiant countenance all of a sudden noticed that as soon as he saw the martyrs photograph, tears started to flow down his countenance. The drops of tears that poured immediately out of his eyes immersed us in the thought of the enormous expanse of this great and unrecognized personality.
