The 1st International Conference on Women and Islamic Awakening has opened in Tehran with the participation of female intellectuals and scholars from around the world.
More than 1500 female researchers and scholars as well as political and social activists from more than 80 countries are taking part in the conference that began today in the Iranian capital.
The forum is to focus on six pivotal issues of Islamic thinking, Islamic awakening and revolutionary act, women and Islamic awakening, challenges, threats and guidelines. It will also hold panels on women and Islamic awakening: achievements and demands, international relations and interactions, the issue of family and capacity building among revolutionary forces.
The World Conference on Women and the Islamic Awakening is scheduled to continue in Tehran until tomorrow, Wednesday July 11th.
Two days before the conference began, a number of the participants of this conference visited Imam Khomeini’s holy shrine on Sunday, July 8th, and paid tribute to Imam Khomeini's high dignity.
