Several ceremonies by Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians and followers of other religions have been organized at churches and temples in the capital Tehran and other parts of Iran.
The ceremonies which were held at the occasion of 27th anniversary of the passing away of Imam Khomeini, were attended by leaders and members of minority groups.
During the ceremonies, they pledged allegiance to ideals of thought of Imam Khomeini, who supported all followers of divine religions and oppressed nations.
Following the emergence of the Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini, the religious minorities and followers of all divine religions were granted with broader freedoms, liberties and rights.
The late founder of the Islamic Republic on several occasions recommended the relevant authorities to guard rights of all religious and ethnic groups living in various parts of the country.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 03, 1989 after reviving divine, religious and spiritual values at sensitive juncture of history when the world had been plunged into social and moral decline.
Imam took firm stance to revive rights of oppressed people across the globe.
