One day the Imam asked us to see him concerning the issue of his late father’s inheritance that he had inherited. In a letter addressed to me he wrote: “Your Excellency is the legal representative appointed to distribute the landed properties belonging to me—even though they are not worth much—in whatever manner that you deem expedient among the poor and to transfer ownership to them whether the properties have been built upon or not.” Of course, this inheritance was of around seven or eight thousand square meters and not more which perhaps after making allowances for street and road building would be divided into thirty or thirty-five plots of real estate. We formed a three-member committee and gave priority for their distribution to needy applicants from among the families of martyrs, prisoners of war and the missing-in-action and distributed the land among them.
